HIKINGLETTERBOXING

Lock Ridge Letterbox

This box was very easy to find, though I don’t think it’ll be discovered by the casual park visitor. Just follow the directions carefully and you can’t not find it. (Unless, of course, it ends up missing.) This letterbox held some surprises—described below—that served as a reminder of the number of cool things that are out there in the world, and how you may just stumble upon a few of them when you’re not looking.

Hi, J & L!

We finally decided to take a trip to this neck of the woods and try some caching down here. We had a lovely day for the drive! The sun was bright and warm, which almost made up for the extremely strong, cold wind. We found all four parts with ease as your coordinates were right on (it didn’t hurt that we got all the answers correct, either 😉). We really enjoy this kind of challenge! Everything was in good condition except for container #2, which unfortunately was very wet inside. The clue can still be read, but the ink is running and I fear it may not be legible much longer. The cache itself was very nicely concealed and in a nice location (if you avoid the thorns). We left a Lego set and took the Art Vandelay space shuttle travel bug. Thanks for a fine walk and a fun challenge on a bright and blustery day!

Hi, J & L!

We came right over to this one after completing “A Literary Stroll”. The sun was still bright and beautiful, though it was getting low in the sky. We found all the parts pretty easily, and we really enjoyed our little tour of this park. From the cache we took the blue agate, and we left an Art Vandelay trading stone in its place. (I was considering taking Clifford for a friend, but I decided against it at the last minute. 😈) This is a very picturesque and peaceful spot! I only wish the museum had been open. Thanks for another interesting Lehigh Valley stroll!
